    Cutting Board Conditioning Options
(We recommend treating the board frequently to repel food particles and prevent stains and cracks.)

It’s best to treat the board at least once a month. Treat twice a month if used often.

Important: Make sure your cutting board is both Clean + Completely Dry before applying any of the following conditioning options.

    AVOID VEGETABLE OR NUT-BASED OILS:
Do not use vegetable or nut-based oil on your cutting board because it will spoil and become rancid.

This will leave your Wood Cutting Board with an unpleasant smell that will noticeably change the taste of the food you prepare.

Use Food-Safe Mineral Oil, typically purchased at a local drug store or major retailer.

Mineral Oil | Cost Effective + Most Commonly Used:

    Need:

    Cloth for Oiling
    Food-Safe Mineral Oil
    Dry Cloth

    Instructions:

Apply the mineral oil using a clean cloth and spread it evenly over the wood cutting board.
Let the oil set in for a few hours or set it overnight.
Afterward, wipe the excess oil off using a dry cloth.

    Beeswax + Mineral Oil Combo:

    Need:

    Small Saucepan
    Heat Safe Spoon/ Spatula
    1/4 Cup Beeswax - chunked
1 Cup Food Safe Mineral Oil
    Sealable Heat Proof Jar
    2 cloths: 1 for paste + 1 for drying

    Instructions:

Combine the Beeswax and Mineral Oil in a Small Saucepan on low heat.
Stir constantly on low heat until the beeswax is completely dissolved. Too high of a temperature will cause the beeswax to discolor.
Remove from heat once dissolved and combined. Let stand for a minute.
Pour the mixture into a sealed jar and let cool for a few hours, stirring once or twice every hour to ensure it is well blended. If you skip the stirring, the mixture won’t be as homogenous.
After being blended and cooled, using a small cloth, rub the paste on the wood cutting board until it is absorbed and let it stand for 5-15 minutes.
With a clean cotton cloth, buff in a circular motion until the finish is smooth.
